There were dozens of birds in each of the photos, but back in the studio I spent time arranging just a small selection of them into the simple design for this print. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOyster catchers are easily recognisable with their striking black and white plumage, and it was their shapes against the sky that I wanted to capture in this print, but their impossibly long, very bright orange beaks had to feature too.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoBodyText3\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThese prints are made by hand in very small batches. The layers of colour are printed in turn from carved vinyl blocks using water-based inks on Japanese paper.
