A small scale study that invites you to lean in.
This little original woodblock print features a delicate wall fern, printed at life size. The plant was growing quietly from a stone wall in the garden of my previous studio — not planted, just finding its own place.
At just 5cm square, the image draws you closer. The scale mirrors the way I first noticed it: by leaning in to study the fine structure of each frond.
The design has been hand-carved into wood and printed by hand in my studio, with each layer built up carefully to create depth and detail. As with all hand-pulled prints, there may be slight variations that reflect the process and make each one individual.
Available mounted in either a 10" × 10" format with generous white space, or a more compact 8" × 8" presentation. Both allow the small image room to breathe, while offering slightly different proportions depending on your space.
This piece works as a quiet focal point — a reminder that even the most overlooked plants can hold remarkable intricacy.
